Paul Cheng was born and grew up in Guangzhou, China, and studied at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, China, one of the most prestigious fine arts schools in China. He received his BFA degree from and also taught at the Guangzhou Institute of Fine Arts. His paintings have been exhibited at the different fine arts competitions in China, Australia and the United States, and he has become award-winning artist. Paul Cheng was featured in Southwest Art in April 2013.

 In 1989 Paul Cheng left China and worked for some main entertainment groups as visual Development artist in Australia and the United States since 1989.
