The power of art, and I will say of sculpture, in particular, is the way each individual artist emphasizes his or her forms to create a singular poetic power of expression and feeling.

My love is to create beautiful sculptures. My goal is to make them in such a way that an inner life of their own comes through and invites the viewer to contemplate the bigger questions. What does it mean to be human, to share the universal experiences of tragedy and triumph common to all of us, regardless of race, culture, and religion? To me, the human figure has such inherent beauty and archetypal power to capture these deep emotions, even our desire for the transcendent. I believe art can help us connect with the divine, and to each other, with more love, more understanding, and more acceptance. A work of sculpture that achieves a poetic voice pushes us past everyday banalities to these greater connections of the soul.”
